President & Owner

Ryan Carlson is the president and owner of SkyBlue Pools, a family-owned business founded by his father in 1959. Growing up in Los Gatos, Ryan learned the pool industry from an early age and developed a passion for providing exceptional service to pool owners. With a focus on maintaining the company’s legacy of excellence, Ryan leads SkyBlue Pools into the future, ensuring it evolves with the latest trends and technologies in pool maintenance. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and exploring new destinations.

Repair Manager

Matt Zut, with over 17 years of experience in the pool industry, has been with SkyBlue Pools since 2020. He previously spent 13 years with large corporate pool companies, handling retail, commercial, and service-related sales. Today, Matt manages repair teams for both residential and commercial projects across the Bay Area. He is CPO certified and has extensive knowledge of industry equipment. Matt enjoys helping clients solve unique problems and bringing their pool visions to life.

Nolan Klinkhammer

Service Manager

Nolan Klinkhammer has 12 years of experience in the pool industry and has been with SkyBlue Pools since 2019. Growing up in his own family pool business, Nolan developed a deep appreciation for building lasting relationships with clients. He became one of the first Journeymen-level Pool and Hot Tub Service Technicians in the nation and has since led his team to success. Nolan finds joy in seeing customers happy with  their pools and spas, making customer satisfaction his priority.

“Excellent service, friendly people.”

Excellent service, friendly people. They replaced our circa 1992 Sta-Rite pump and motor with a Pentair whisperflo system. The last motor died after 22 years and unless you have a friend outside of CA, you cannot get a single speed motor anymore. The scheduling precision means I can run it right up to one minute before TOU rates start to get maximum solar heating; it’s tough to do that with a mechanical Intermatic. I highly recommend SkyBlue.

“They are keeping the water in the pool perfect!!! Five Stars!”

While SkyBlue has done all the major work for over 30 years, could never get their weekly service. Finally, after a number of service companies, we were able to get their weekly service when they had an opening. We have never seen our swimming pool water so crystal clear. Not only have they come right away when we had equipment problems, and fixed them, but now they are keeping the water in the pool perfect!!! Five Stars!

I had a problem with my fairly new Pentair pool heater that was just out of warranty. Once Skyblue got involved, they never gave up. Matt and team came multiple days trying to resolve the problem and followed guidelines from Pentair support replacing most of the replaceable parts. Eventually it turned by be simple problem with a nest in the intake, but none of the symptoms and diagnose codes pointed to that. I have a working heater after months; waiting for spring now 🙂 Thanks, Matt and Skyblue.
